 Forest Place was first opened in 1912 as a hospital to serve the local community.
Over the years it was expanded to meet local needs and it has served the people well. Many local residents remember the hospital with affection.
In 1980 the cottage hospital closed and focus switched to care of the elderly.
In 1986 ownership passed to Springboard Housing Association who invested heavily in providing improved facilities including adding a new purpose built wing.
The Abbey Total Care Group acquired Forest Place in 2001 and has continued improving facilities through a heavy investment programme aimed at bringing the best possible care to our residents.
